⏱️ Cooking Time: 15 minutes | 🍽️ Servings: 1

Instructions

  1. 1.
In a small skillet, heat the butter over medium heat until it melts and starts to bubble slightly. Add the ground turkey and break it apart with a spatula. Sprinkle the dried sage over the turkey and mix well. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the turkey is fully cooked and slightly golden.
  2. 2.
Meanwhile, preheat a separate pan over medium heat. Spread a small amount of butter on one side of the sourdough bread to achieve a golden crust when toasted. Place the bread, buttered side down, onto the pan. Immediately sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top of the bread.
  3. 3.
Once the turkey is browned, use a slotted spoon to transfer it onto the cheese-covered bread, allowing the juices to drain as you do so to prevent the bread from getting soggy. Let the cheese melt and the bread toast for an additional 2-3 minutes, adjusting the heat if needed to avoid burning.
  4. 4.
Use a spatula to carefully fold the bread over the filling, similar to a sandwich or omelet fold. Press down slightly to seal everything together. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the bread is crispy and the cheese is fully melted. Keep an eye on the heat so the bread doesn’t scorch.
