- 1.Start by cooking the quinoa. In a small pot, combine 1/2 cup rinsed quinoa with 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the quinoa is fluffy. Fluff it with a fork and set aside.
