Instructions
- 1.Begin by patting the chicken thigh dry with a paper towel. This step helps achieve a crispy skin when cooking. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic, whisking until the honey is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- 2.Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully place the chicken thigh skin-side down. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy. Reduce the heat to medium if the skin begins to burn too quickly.
- 3.Flip the chicken thigh and pour the soy sauce mixture over it. Lower the heat to medium and allow it to cook for another 10-12 minutes, basting occasionally with the pan juices. The sauce will reduce and thicken, creating a sticky glaze. Ensure the chicken's internal temperature reaches 165°F for safe consumption.
- 4.As the glaze thickens, turn the heat to low, moving the chicken around the skillet to evenly coat it with the glaze. If the glaze thickens too much or begins to burn, add a splash of water to loosen it slightly while still maintaining a glossy texture.
- 5.Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Resting allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the chicken moist and flavorful. Serve with the glaze drizzled over the top for extra flavor.
