Instructions
- 1.Begin by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Place the tofu on a plate lined with paper towels and put a heavy pan on top for about 15 minutes. This step allows the tofu to crisp up better when cooked.
- 2.Once the tofu is pressed, cut it into 1-inch cubes. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, adding 1 tablespoon of olive oil. When the oil shimmers, add the tofu cubes in a single layer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown and crispy.
- 3.While the tofu is cooking, prepare the marinade by mixing the minced garlic, lime juice, soy sauce, and the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a small bowl. Stir well to combine.
- 4.Once the tofu is golden brown, reduce the heat to medium and pour the garlic-lime marinade over the tofu. Stir to ensure all pieces are evenly coated. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly and the garlic becomes fragrant.
- 5.Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary, adding a splash more lime juice or soy sauce to suit your preference. If the tofu sticks, add a little more oil or reduce the heat. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
