5Garlic Herb Steamed Mussels
Enjoy a taste of the sea with these quick and flavorful steamed mussels, perfect for a cozy night in.
How to make it
- 1
Before you begin, make sure your mussels are clean. Discard any that are open and do not close when tapped. Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- 2
Add the minced garlic to the pot and cook for just 1 minute until it's fragrant and slightly golden. Be careful not to let it burn.
- 3
Now, add the cleaned mussels to the pot. Pour in the dry white wine. You can add a splash of water if you prefer less wine.
- 4
Cover the pot tightly with a lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Steam for 5 to 7 minutes, shaking the pot occasionally, until all the mussels have opened. Remember to discard any mussels that did not open during cooking.
- 5
Stir in the fresh chopped parsley. Serve your delicious mussels immediately in bowls with plenty of that wonderful broth. Enjoy, perhaps with some crusty bread for dipping!
