In a small mixing bowl, combine your softened cream cheese with the garlic powder and about half of your chopped fresh chives. Give it a good stir until everything is well mixed together.

Carefully cut your avocados in half lengthwise and remove the pits. Scoop out about half of the avocado flesh from each half, being sure to leave a nice sturdy border so your boat holds together.
